The purpose of this study is to analyse the effectiveness of social media as a communication channel to maintain brand loyalty and Tesco has been chosen as the example for the case study. Marketing communication through social media ensures organisations to achieve greater customer base in terms of volume compared to traditional marketing methods. Social media communication provides real time and accurate feedback from customers. The quality feedback received through social media can help firms to take timely measures with regards to products and services for achieving better growth and development. The objective of this work is to find out how effective utilisation of social media can maintain brand loyalty. The study included glimpse of previous works on the topic. The research described various theories on brand loyalty and the role of social media to create and maintain brand loyalty with relation to Tesco U.K
